Notes & Costing
Below is a list of the items used in constructing this light and the associated costs. Prices are Australian dollars.
- 1 x Trailer tail/stop light @ $11.45c.
- 4 x Bannana Plugs (you may not need these) @ $0.56c each.
- 2 metres of figure 8 cable @ $0.97c/metre
- A bit of foil, negligible,
- A bit of electrical solder, negligible.
- A mounting bracket. I didn't need this, but you might.
The Trailer Light Firstly, I like some basic redundancy, so whilst a single globe light would have been a lot cheaper, the fact that this light has two globes already mounted, it was of interest. I've had occassions in the past where globes are blown. With this arrangement, instead of fiddling in the dark with screw driver attempting to replace the blown bulb, I simply switch to the other globe.
Different Wattage another good feature of this light was that it comes fitted with different wattage. The low wattage globe is only six (6) watts, which is quite sufficent in normal use. The high wattage globe is twenty (20) watts which is needed on busy roads.
