These are reasonably informal evaluations of various Enterprise backup solutions that can
be run on a Linux server.
At one stage here, the local network consisted of 6 Linux boxes, 1 Novell Server,
1 NT work station, 2 OS/S BBS's and 3 WFWG work stations. Needless to say, backing all this
up was a nightmare and invlved five different tape drives and quite a few hundred tapes of
various formats and sizes. So the idea of one box taking the lot was very appealing.
So, over the years, I've set out to look at various Linux backup options. The comments below
are my experiences and opinions.
